It all started when my parents came back from a vacation in Asia and brought me a handmade soap from a small village they visited. These soaps were all natural, handmade soaps made by the village women to support themselves and send their children to school.
As a big supporter of education and having had the privilege of graduating law school and getting my undergraduate and teaching credential from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA...I instantly fell in love with the idea of women in impoverished countries being self-supportive and not having to turn to degrading means of supporting themselves like prostitution or being forced into poverty. Further, studies show that when women earn money, they are most likely to spend it on their children.
With years of intense research, trial and error, I came up with a way to support the American economy by making natural, vegan handmade soaps here, and still being able to make this world a better place by sending the proceeds to women in impoverished countries all over the world through microloans. And tada....Soaps 4 Hope was born.
This soap business is rewarding in every way and gives me a reason to wake up in the morning and be excited about life.
Let's pass on our blessings and continue to make this world a better place one soap at a time.
